Today was a good day
Nov. 12th, 2021 11:56 pmToday I learned some new stretches to warm up my shoulders before I bench press. I very much need this kind of warmup because my left shoulder is weak from a two-year-old rotator cuff injury, and it's hindering my lifting progress.
I went to the local hardware store to get a length of thin PVC pipe for the exercises, and found that the pipe was cheaper than I'd expected. I paid three bucks and fifty cents for five feet of pipe. PVC is toxic, however, so I might end up looking to switch out this implement for another material.
We've been getting extra food stamps because of the pandemic, and I got mine today, two days early, which is good timing because now I can go shopping for tofu and broccoli heads tomorrow instead of the day after, a Sunday. Sundays are bad days to travel because public transportation is spotty, plus I'd rather not go shopping this Sunday in particular because I have to go into town again on Monday for an ultrasound, traveling is tiring, and so I'd rather not go into town two days in a row.
The place where I get my tofu was out the first time I went a few days ago, then there were only four packages of tofu when I went the next day. It's cheap, high-protein tofu, really good stuff, and I guess they sell out quickly. I've learned my lesson and will be going shopping early in the day to make sure I get all I need (I'll probably get 15-18 packages.
After the hardware store, I went to one of the fancy grocery stores in town to get some (vegan) B12. Usually, vegan B12 is expensive, but I found a bottle for only ten dollars. Not far from the vitamins, I noticed a protein powder that I prefer (Nutribiotic). The store where I used to get it has apparently stopped selling it. I can find it in at least one other store, but I wasn't able to buy the powder with food stamps there the last time I tried, and I haven't wanted to try again, especially since the powder is more expensive in this other store.
Wonderful surprise that I was able to use food stamps for this product, and that I had enough food stamps, thanks to the early pandemic food stamps disbursement.
I had delicious pizza-flavored roasted tofu twice today. I was in a decent mood. The sun was shining and I got outside and enjoyed it. Good day. The only thing that went wrong today (aside from my being assailed by shitty memories, which is everyday now) is that I didn't get to the library early enough to print out some Arabic grammar charts. My progress in Arabic has been very slow due to shitty learning materials. Assimil is garbage. Rosetta Stone doesn't cut it. Larousse is unusable.
